Bayanihan Community Center Murals

Kularts, in partnership with the Filipino American Development Foundation, hosted a series of community workshops with artist Paolo Salazar, leading to the creation of murals for the Bayanihan Community Center, designed and painted by Cece Carpio. This video, by Wilfred Galila, documents this project.

The Bayanihan Community Center, located at the South of Market (6th and Mission Streets) in San Francisco, is a central gathering place for Filipino-Americans and for the underserved residents of SOMA, connecting them to essential services and enriching cultural programming. With the creation of the murals, the community has come together to share our faces and voices with visitors and passing crowds.
